is a fourth generation calcium channel blocker. It can.block both L-type and N-type calcium channel.
Cilnidipine

Cilnidipine has increased lipophilicity which leads to longer antihypertensive effect. In clinical assessment of 24 hour, single daily dose of cilnidipine showed blood pressure reduction for twenty four hour period.
Study has shown that, the urinary albumin excretion was reduced significantly in patient group taking cilnidipine in comparison with the amlodipine group. The decrease of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity was significantly greater in the cilnidipine consuming group than that of amlodipine user.
In Bangladesh ACME Laboratories Ltd. marketed it under the brand name of DUOCARD which is available in both five mg & ten mg preparation. Brand name for opsinin pharma is CILDIP. It is also available 5 mg & 10 mg tablet.
In India it is found under the brand name of CILACAR produced by JCBPL.
